At Al Asad Air Base, Trump said to the troops, "You haven’t gotten one [a pay raise] in more than 10 years. More than 10 years!". That was a lie. In fact, the pay raise Trump took credit for wasn't even the biggest in 10 years
Donald Trump first visited the troops in December 2018. By then criticism for his cowardice was becoming too great even from him to ignore
After the CIA assessed that the Saudi crown prince had journalist and U.S. legal resident Jamal Khashoggi murdered, Trump said he stood by the prince
The GI Bill fiasco came at the end of a year which included the sudden firing-via-twitter of the VA Director David Shulkin and four months without a replacement director

People may disagree with me but I can understand a decision to dodge service in Vietnam. But if you think people shouldn't die in a bad war, then at least you should try to save the lives of those who took your place by speaking about against it. Trump avoided service and happily let less well connected people to fight and die in his place.
